A Different Kind of Leadership Conversation
This is not a webinar. Rather than spending an hour listening to a presentation, you'll join a facilitated discussion with senior business leaders, HR, Talent, L&D and People & Culture professionals exploring one of the most important challenges facing workplace gender equality.
The session will begin with a short leadership perspective from Megan, drawing on nearly two decades of work in women's leadership and gender equality, including more than five years working directly with male allies.
We'll then open the conversation to explore what's really happening inside organisations, what's working, where the challenges remain, and how we can move beyond awareness and good intentions to meaningful action.
We especially encourage men to participate. We want to hear directly from male leaders and allies about their experiences, challenges and perspectives, alongside the women and organisational leaders working to create change.
Why This Conversation Matters
Across the world, women remain significantly underrepresented in senior leadership, despite decades of investment in women's development and gender equality initiatives.
At the same time, the environment for this work is becoming increasingly complex. Diversity and inclusion efforts are being questioned, attitudes toward gender equality are shifting, and organisations are grappling with how to engage men more meaningfully in the conversation.
Supporting gender equality is important. But lasting progress requires more than support. It requires leaders willing to challenge existing practices, influence everyday decisions and take responsibility for creating more equitable workplaces.
Together, we'll explore:
- Why some men actively engage in gender equality while others remain on the sidelines
- What prevents awareness and good intentions from translating into meaningful action
- Whether our current approaches to engaging men are working
- What effective male allyship looks like in everyday leadership and organisational practice
- How organisations can move from individual allyship to sustained cultural and systemic change
The insights from this discussion will also help inform Women Rising's forthcoming leadership research, bringing together global evidence and the experiences of leaders working to create meaningful change.
